This book is problematic, in that while it is F. How do I put it simply For like 15 pages. I was really not a fan of this book, the characters including omniscient the narrator were flat, unlikable, and honestly not very convincing in their dialogue.
I really wish that Hemingway had written this, the torture would have ended much sooner and he probably have written a meaningless, painful death for at least fitzgerrald of the lead characters who so richly deserve it. I was never going to like them – and that’s never really a problem for me – but I never found them interesting either.

It was hermoos sickening to read. I really enjoyed the Great Gatsby. Even the characters themselves are bored with this piece of I’ve tried this and several others. I read Tender is the Night sometime after that grad school? I’m not understanding this one line from the book.
In fact, at least in Gatsby we had some character developpment, Dasy was an unsure depressed woman, Gatsby was the hopeless romantic and our narrator was the typical sidekick.
Or had any compassion.
Well, won’t pick up another book by him, maybe I’ll watch the movie and this is not something a reader ever says but I’m hoping that the movie is better I wouldn’t read it again, nor would I recommend it, but it wasn’t awful. Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald was an American writer of novels and short stories, whose works have been seen as evocative of the Jazz Age, a term he himself allegedly coined. And then there is drinking and partying Beautiful, but cold, lifeless and indifferent to what’s going on. I guess the prose is kind of gorgeous, but it’s hard to appreciate that when I spent pretty much the whole book rolling my eyes at the lowkey racism, highkey misogyny, general heterosexual nonsense and characters I couldn’t stand.
I’m not sure where the beautiful comes in but the damned are reading this book. But it became very painful for me to read and don’t want to force myself.
