Coulter writes very well, there’s a depth to her characters that you don’t normally see, I’d read Catherine Coulter as a very young girl of 14, and I didn’t like her at all back then. You see, Douglas’ family is forcing him to get married and produce an heir, given that he’s an coulterr and his offspring shall follow his footsteps.
We all know that in a romance novel that the two main characters will eventually end up with their so-called Happily Ever After. Incredible, a Coulter novel without physical abuse and rape.

As a relatively new romance reader, this book caught me hook, line, and sinker. I loved her character! I like Sinjin sister of Douglas, she so funny.
Not a good read for me. The Hellion Bride Reading Order: Douglas in the end of the book becomes, or grows I should say, into a fully fledged hero we knew him to be from the beginning.

I have read this book at least times since my first as a young teen, and I still love it and enjoy it just as much now as I did then.
I often re-read this when waiting for a new release. View all 19 comments. Douglas Sherbrooke, Earl of Northcliffe decides that it is time for him to marry and produce an heir. It is instant fascination on both their parts, but for different reasons.
A fisticuff ensues with both the girls jumping in as well making it a free for all – like a cartoon movie scene. Douglas treats her coldly and heaps some mild verbal abuse on her.
Douglas was cruel, and but he grew and adjusted and the ending was endearing. And the love scenes were awful in my opinion, I just felt no connection between them, and it sounded rather cold as if he was just using her.
At the end of the series, I felt like visiting long-lost family couter, and yet I was glad to go home after a short visit. Read Currently Reading Want to Read.
The Sherbrooke Bride by Catherine Coulter — All About Romance
I personally loved Alex! Of course, the H is hopping mad now. But life never ladles out what one expects, and Douglas finds himself wed to the wrong sister. While I was really looking forward to reading the series, I am now somewhat hesitant, especially since the next brother for Hellion Bride, Ryder does not sound at all likable or responsible, especially with the nonchalance that he keeps on having children out of wedlock.
Douglas starts out with an unwanted wife and ends up falling deep in lust and then in love with Alex. What I also didn’t like was the physical abuse in the story – inflicted mainly by the heroine on the hero. He should have annulled the marriage.
