But London is a dangerous place, especially for a man like Milne. I’m not sure if it was the ‘messy’ plot which took a lot of concentration to follow in order to put the pieces together, or the narration by Dave John with his East Kernlck accent and far from plausible female voices, but I was looking forward for this one to finish, without really caring what happened. Simon talks both on and off the record to members of the Counter Terrorism Command and the Serious and Organised Crime Agency, so he gets to hear first hand what actually happens in the kerbick and murky underbelly of UK crime.

This is the first Simon Kernick novel I’ve read, and I was very pleased. Milne has a history with this guy and discovers that West’s escape to the Philippines came in the wake of his involvement in murdering a pair of cops from the Serious Crimes Unit: Added by 5 of our members.
